Epic 17-Day Journey: Trip Vietnam Cambodia Thailand and Laos Adventure

Arrival in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. Upon arrival, you will meet our Spanish-speaking guide and be transferred to the hotel.

Transfer to Thonburi, located on the western side of Bangkok along the right bank of the Chao Phraya River. This river, with its numerous canals, earned Bangkok the nickname “Venice of the East.” As you sail, you’ll get a firsthand look at the lifestyle along Bangkok’s canals. To conclude, we’ll visit the Royal Barges and the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun). After the tour, transfer back to the hotel.

On the third day in Bangkok, we will focus on exploring its most significant temples and the majestic Grand Palace. We will start with a visit to Wat Pho, renowned for its impressive Reclining Buddha, a 46-meter-long golden statue. Next, we will head to Wat Phra Kaew, the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, the most sacred temple in Thailand, located within the Grand Palace complex. Here, you can admire the unique blend of traditional Thai architecture and Western elements. After the visit, return to the hotel to relax.

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for the flight to Chiang Rai.

Arrive in Chiang Rai on flight PG 231 at 7:35/8:55 AM or WE 130 at 7:50/9:15 AM. Meet our Spanish-speaking guide upon arrival. Continue by minibus to the Golden Triangle, where the borders of Myanmar (formerly Burma), Laos, and Thailand meet along the Mekong River. Enjoy a 30-minute traditional boat ride, taking in the daily life of the Laotian people. Lunch will be at a local restaurant.

Visit the Opium House and then explore the villages of the Akha and Yao ethnic minorities. Conclude the day with a visit to the village of the famous Long-Neck Women.

After breakfast at the hotel, embark on a journey to the pier for a traditional boat ride along the Kok River. During the trip, you’ll visit the villages of the Karen and Lahu (Muser) ethnic minorities, experiencing their unique cultures and lifestyles.

Following the boat ride, enjoy an elephant trek through stunning landscapes, immersing yourself in the natural beauty of the region.

Next, visit the famous White Temple (Wat Rong Khun) before traveling by road from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai, a journey of approximately 3 hours. Upon arrival in Chiang Mai, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit the Wat Doi Suthep Temple, the most renowned temple in Chiang Mai, located on a hilltop 15 kilometers northwest of the city. Explore its beautiful grounds and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding area.

Visit the elephant camp where you can observe the elephants bathing, dragging logs, and performing other tasks. Optional tour: 1-hour elephant ride through the local forest.

Depart for the Mae Sa Valley and visit the Sai Nam Phung Orchid Farm. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Explore local craft factories specializing in lacquerware, silk weaving, and traditional paper umbrellas. Also, visit a wood sculpture factory where you can purchase Burmese antiques.

Dinner will be a traditional Kantoke dinner, and then return to the hotel for accommodation.

Transfer to the airport for the flight to Hanoi. Arrival in Hanoi and transfer to the hotel.

After breakfast, we will start the tours of Hanoi. Today, Hanoi is the capital of Vietnam, a unique Asian city with tree-lined avenues, French colonial architecture, tranquil lakes, and Oriental temples.

The tour includes a visit to the Temple of Literature, the first university in the country, founded in 1070 and considered the symbol of Hanoi. We will continue to the Ethnology Museum, where you can admire a diverse and interesting collection of Vietnamese culture.

After lunch, we will proceed to visit the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum: visiting the exterior from Ba Dinh Square. We will then continue to the One Pillar Pagoda, built in 1049 by Emperor Ly Thai Tong, who reigned from 1028 to 1054. Built in wood on a single stone pillar, it is designed to resemble a lotus flower in honor of Buddha. Subsequently, we will visit the Ngoc Son Temple located in the middle of Hoan Kiem Lake.

Finally, we will take a panoramic cyclo tour through Hanoi’s Old Quarter, also known as the 36 Streets Quarter, which was historically known for the trades and workshops of artisans there.

After breakfast at the hotel, depart for Halong Bay, a journey of approximately two and a half hours via the highway.

Experience a fantastic cruise in Halong Bay, a UNESCO World Heritage site, passing by many stunning islets.

Halong Bay hides secrets that few people know. One of these secrets will be uncovered today with a visit to one of the bay’s most surprising and beautiful caves: the Surprise Cave. Enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary) or simply relax on board, depending on your preference. What we guarantee is the immense natural beauty that will envelop you with its mysticism and legends.

Towards the end of the day, the boat will anchor to spend the night among the karst formations.

Enjoy a light breakfast on board (cake, milk, coffee, tea…).

You can participate in a Tai Chi class on the covered terrace (at 7:00 AM), a great morning activity to connect with the wonderful nature around you.

Enjoy some visits and/or activities (depending on each boat’s itinerary). A buffet brunch will be served before reaching the shore around 11:00 AM.

The boat will take you to the Halong pier, and the crew will bid farewell to the travelers. The driver and guide will pick you up and transfer you back to Hanoi Airport for your flight to Da Nang. Upon arrival in Da Nang, you will be picked up and transferred to your hotel in Hoi An. Check in at the hotel and enjoy free time.

Upon arrival in Hanoi, continue your exploration with a visit to the charming and historic Ancient Town of Hoi An. Known as one of Southeast Asia’s major international ports where trade occurred with Dutch, Portuguese, Chinese, Japanese, and other merchants, the town features notable sites such as the Ancient Houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, and the Phuc Kien Temple.

Enjoy shopping at the vibrant market, which is filled with local specialties, including silk. Afterward, take a leisurely stroll through the streets of Hoi An and appreciate its ancient beauty.

Free time to relax on the beach, wander through the colorful market, or shop.

Transfer to the airport for your flight to Siem Reap. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel.

Depart in a Tuk-Tuk (a traditional Cambodian vehicle) to the South Gate of Angkor Thom. Here, you’ll view the impressive statues depicting the ocean’s movement, the ancient capital of Angkor Thom (12th century), Bayon Temple with its 54 towers adorned with 200 smiling faces of Avalokitesvara, Phimeanakas, and the terraces of the Leper King and Elephants, along with the Royal Enclosures. Next, visit Ta Prohm Temple, one of the most spectacular temples in the area, which has remained largely unchanged since its discovery and still retains much of its mystery.

In the afternoon, take a bus to visit Angkor Wat, the most famous of all temples and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This vast complex covers 81 hectares, comparable in size to the Forbidden City in Beijing. The five towers, which feature on the Cambodian flag, represent the five peaks of Mount Meru, surrounded by walls symbolizing mountains, and the moat representing the ocean. This 12th-century masterpiece is considered by art historians to be the first example of classic Khmer architecture and art. Return to the hotel.

Attend a Buddhist ceremony with monks at Wat Domnak Pagoda, where you will learn more about Buddhism and its influence on Cambodian culture. The ceremony concludes with a prayer and blessings from the Buddhist monks.

Visit the temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre, dedicated to Shiva. Experience a traditional ox cart ride in a rural village and enjoy a taste of palm wine.

On the way back, visit Artisans D’Angkor, a center dedicated to helping Cambodian youth preserve traditional crafts. Return to the hotel and enjoy the rest of the day at leisure.

At the designated time, transfer to the airport for your departure flight. Upon arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, transfer to the hotel. Enjoy free time until check-in at the hotel, typically available from 2:00 PM.

After breakfast, embark on a traditional boat for a cruise along the Mekong River, offering stunning views of the riverside landscape, including serene villages, beautiful fields, and forests. En route, we’ll stop at the village of Ban Xanghai, renowned for its traditional rice wine production.

Next, visit the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, which house thousands of gold-lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, left by pilgrims over the years. Lunch at a local restaurant.

After visiting the caves, return to Luang Prabang. Explore the National Museum and the former Royal Palace. Later, ascend Mount Phousi for a fantastic panoramic view of Luang Prabang and the Mekong River.

Today, we’ll wake up at 5:30 AM to witness the monk’s alms procession, where monks leave the pagodas to receive food from locals, followed by a visit to the morning market. Return to the hotel for breakfast and some rest.

Next, we will visit Wat Xieng Thong, the most important and significant monument in Laos, representing spirit, religion, royal history, and traditional art. The complex includes over twenty buildings, such as shrines, pavilions, and residences, surrounded by a beautiful garden with various flowers, shrubs, and ornamental trees.

We will continue our tour to Wat Sane, Wat Mai, Wat Visoun, and also visit Ock Pop Tock.
